An audience avatar is a single, sharply defined portrait of the one listener your podcast is built for, their role, goals, pains and the questions they need answered. Every topic, guest and title should be chosen to serve that one person.

For example, your audience avatar is Priya, a Head of Demand Gen at a 200-person B2B SaaS company who needs to prove pipeline impact to her CMO, and you green-light episodes only if Priya would press play.

Why it matters: a clear audience avatar is what lets you choose the right audience over a big one, it keeps the show focused on the buyers who actually drive revenue, instead of diluting it to please everyone and converting no one.

A useful avatar is specific enough that you can picture one real person from a target account, not a demographic bracket that could describe half the market.
